This painting of Christchurch Harbour shows the inner harbour and the tower of Christchurch itself. Although this is a harbour with a large tidal range, there are an amazing number of boats of all sizes both on the moorings and in the harbour. In the foreground of the painting the quay for the ferry to the site of the second painting — the harbour entrance — can be seen.
