Water colours are like a time capsule….they are like the day. When it’s hot the colours dry fast and sharp. On the other hand, when it’s humid and wet the colours merge into a haze because they take a while to dry.
I’ve never had a good memory for certain things and so for me the paintings are my memories. The South American collection takes me back thirty years.
I learnt to paint through necessity. When I was travelling and needed a place to stay I would paint on the edge of town. People would come and talk to me and through them, I would meet others who could offer me a bed for the night or the week.
I hope you enjoy sharing my journey.
