Burnham Abbey,
Berkshire, UK
Painted in 1995
My former wife showed me this. It’s a convent and I had to ask the mother superior if I could come and sit in the court-yard and do the painting. The nuns would come every hour with a cup of tea and a biscuit, it was a real joy to do this one. The uniqueness of this convent is that the nuns were on a 24 hour shift of prayers for the world.
