These are some friends whom I met in Ecuador. I went to visit them in Spain a few years later…..and stayed with them at their farmhouse, near Barcelona. The farmhouse dates from the early 1800’s and they use it as a holiday home. I particularly liked the tree, it had been struck by lightning and had been stripped on one side but was still flourishing on the other side and I was fascinated by the dichotomy of life and death side by side.
